Brown County emergency personnel responded to a near-drowning at the Brownwood Country Club swimming pool at approximately 3:40 PM Thursday.
According to initial reports, a 7-year-old child was not breathing at the pool.
Brown County Sheriff’s Captain Tony Aaron confirmed that BCSO and emergency responders were called to the scene. A lifeguard pulled the victim from the water and started CPR.
The child was transported via ambulance to Brownwood Regional Medical Center and later flown to Cooks Children’s Hospital in Dallas by Teddy Bear Transport.
Officials said the child was at the pool with a group of friends.
A friend of the family identified the child as Andrew Mobley who is the son Father Mobley of St. John’s Episcopal Church. He is in critical condition at Cooks.
