The later part of last week through the weekend was a rough go for Brownwood Police as three officers were assaulted while they responded to unrelated calls.

It started on Thursday, July 8th, when Officer Trey Weathermon was injured during a call to a domestic disturbance in the 1700 block of Durham.  A struggle ensued between a suspect and the officer.  While taking the male subject to the ground, two subjects involved in the disturbance landed on the officer’s knee.  This resulted in an injury that sent Weathermon home for the rest of his shift and to be off duty for a couple of days according to police officials.  The male subject, 18-year-old Stetson Don Kelley was arrested for Assault on a Public Servant and Resisting Arrest.

Then in a separate incident Friday at 2:10am, Brownwood Police Officer Kimberly Cantu conducted a traffic stop in the 2800 block of 1st Street.  The driver was identified as 17-year-old Mariah Ancrea Cisneroz.  According to Assistant Chief Fuller, a struggle between the officer and the driver ensued resulting in Officer Cantu being kicked in the face, leaving her with a balck eye.  Reports state that Cisneroz continued to resist arrest and assaulting assisting Officer Tracy Delgado, who then tased the suspect.  She was then arrested for two counts of Assaulting a Public Servant, Driving While Intoxicated, and Flee Scene of Accident with Damage to Vehicle greater than $200.

The third assault occurred on Sunday, July 11th. At 1:51am, Brownwood Police Officer Brandon Arnold was dispatched to Skillet’s restaurant in reference to a fight in progress.  According to Brownwood Police officials, three subjects entered Skillets when one of them began “trash talking” to several customers, including a motorcycle club, trying to entice a fight.  Witnesses on scene stated that the male started the fight and that the motorcyclists were trying to eat.   A female with the group, as she was being arrested for disorderly conduct, tried to kick Officer Arnold and then gouged her fingernail into his hand, causing broken skin, pain, and bleeding according to police.  An investigation led to a male subject, identified as 31-year-old Domingo Jose Trevino, being arrested for Public Intoxication; a female identified as 68-year-old Irene Castaneda Aguirre, arrested for disorderly conduct; and another female identified as 22-year-old Yesenia Lisa Alvarado arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Assault on a Public Servant.
