Emergency responders were called to a two-vehicle accident with injury on Early Blvd. at the Pecan Bayou bridge Thursday afternoon.

The accident occurred just inside the city limits of Early at approximately 2:15 p.m.

According to witnesses on scene, a van pulled out of Humphrey Pete’s and collided with a 4-door Lincoln which was traveling west on Early Blvd.  The van struck the Lincoln’s rear quarter panel on the passenger side, causing the driver of the Lincoln to swerve into the center lane as the vehicle was spun completely around.  It then struck the guard rail which changed its direction back to the westbound direction.

The driver of the Lincoln was uninjured; however, a male passenger was transported to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room for back pain, according to family members.  The driver of the van was reported to be uninjured.

Pictured above is the damaged Lincoln.  The van was able to pull into a nearby parking lot after the accident.
