Motor vehicle accidents seemed to be the common call for Brownwood Police and Fire Departments Tuesday, as two more separate vehicle accidents occurred Tuesday evening sending one woman to the hospital.

Emergency responders were called to an accident at the intersection of Coggin and 14th Street Tuesday evening, which sent one woman to the hospital for evaluation.

Just after 5:00pm, two vehicles collided in the intersection of Coggin and 14th.  A Ford Explorer was struck by a small four-door Saturn, striking the driver’s side door.  The female driver of the Saturn was reported to be uninjured.  The female passenger of the Explorer required transport by ambulance to the hospital; however the driver of the vehicle refused transport.

Brownwood Police Department, Brownwood Fire Department and Guardian EMS responded to the scene of this accident.

Brownwood Police were dispatched to a one-vehicle accident after 6:30pm in the 1900 block of 12th Street where a driver struck a tree.  According to the driver, he was adjusting something in his vehicle, briefly took his eyes off the road, and struck the tree before he was able to turn the vehicle away from it.

The teen driver was uninjured; however his vehicle sustained significant front-end damage.

Pictured above is the damaged Pontiac that struck the tree.  Below are more photos of both accidents.
