Brown County Sheriff Bobby Grubbs released information regarding two people arrested Thursday accused of having a marijuana growing operation.  Deputy Michelle Holder responded to a report of a possible drug lab at a residence in the 5500 block of US HWY 183 S on Thursday.  The caller told authorities that they found a drug operation in a travel trailer on the property and a possible wanted person inside.

Deputies made contact with the occupant of the trailer, 34-year-old Heather DShea Scott, who appeared to be under the influence of narcotics according to a report released by Grubbs.  Deputies found several high grade marijuana plants growing inside the trailer the report states.   Scott was placed under arrest and was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and of several items associated with the use of methamphetamine.

Investigator Jason Benefield responded to the scene and began conducting an investigation into the growing operation with assistance from other BCSO deputies and Early Police Officer Amanda Williams.

During the investigation, deputies noticed a pick-up drive by the property that had a temporary tag on it which was partially falling off to the point that it was no longer legible the report states.  A traffic stop was initiated and the driver, identified as 34-year-old Chance Don Schaefer, was arrested for driving while license invalid with previous conviction.

The passenger of the vehicle, identified as 30-year-old Joshua Ryan Daniell, was given a ride back to his residence which was the travel trailer being investigated.  According to the report, Schaefer and Daniell drove by the travel trailer and attempted to leave the area after seeing law enforcement at the residence.

Inside the trailer, deputies located an indoor marijuana growing operation with a total of seven plants.  Scott and Daniell were both arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana over 4 ounces, less than 5 pounds.  Scott was additionally charged with felony possession of a controlled substance.  Both are being held in the Brown County Jail, and bond had not been set at the time of the report.
