Teacher Alysbelle Shero and Principal Charles Chesser, along with Top Cat 5th grade students, were among those who helped clean up the Brownwood Intermediate campus Friday morning, as part of Operation Clean Sweep with the PASS Program. The students, principal and teachers braved the below freezing temperatures to do their part to keep their campus clean.
Commercial dumpsters were brought in and staffed by volunteers and city workers to help neighborhood residents clear up unwanted trash for free, in order to make the area around the schools cleaner and safer.

Saturday, January 22nd
• Dumpsters open for neighborhood residents – 9am – 3pm at 1000 Ave. B (see below for details)
• City Staff picking up oversized items from residents (appliances, furniture, etc.) Throughout day
• Coggin Elementary PTO Playground Improvements – 9am-12pm at Coggin Elementary
• Health Occupation Students of America (BHS Club) Project – 9am – 12pm at 1213/1215 Avenue A – Club will be cleaning out a vacant house that the BHS construction trades class plans on remodeling. BISD maintenance crew will be assisting the students.
• BHS Key Club Volunteering – 12pm – 3pm at dumpsters and around schools. – Club will be assisting in manning dumpsters and doing general litter pick-up.
