Funeral services for Roy Adams, age 86, of Brownwood will be held 11:00 Monday December 31, 2012 at The Church of the Good Shepherd. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 on Sunday at Heartland Funeral Home.
Roy Adams was born on May 7, 1926, in Comanche, Texas to Leroy and Nina Adams. After high school he joined the Navy where he as in the shore police. Returning home he was a farmer and rancher in the Sidney community. He later entered the telephone industry as the General Manager of Comanche County Telephone Coop. until 1974. Roy finished his career with Power & Telephone Supply as a salesman and was very successful. His many friends in the industry still fondly remember him as the “donut man”. After retirement Roy loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his friends from The Church of the Good Shepherd, where he loved riding his lawn mower keeping the grounds groomed. Roy had a love for the Western culture and believed in the “Cowboy way”.Roy was preceded in death by his beloved wife “Maggie”, Margret Adams, his son, Billy Adams; his parents, Leroy and Nina Adams, and brother Damon Adams. He is survived by son, Richard Adams and wife Maril of Olney, son Steve Adams and wife Lyn of Horseshoe Bay, stepson Brennen Pinkerton and wife Joyce of Ft. Worth, stepdaughter Julie Hensley and husband Hatter of Burlington, Iowa, and stepdaughter Phyllis Boone and husband Daniel of Beella Vista, Arkansas. Paw Paw cherished all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Roy passed from this life on December 28, 2012 in Brownwood, Texas.
