The Brownwood Police Department is investigating the death of a near 3-month-old baby girl who was found not breathing in the 3600 block of 3rd Street Sunday. The baby was pronounced dead at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
The baby’s mother and her boyfriend woke up Sunday around 12:30pm to find the baby, which was sleeping with them, not breathing, according to police officials.
The body was sent to the Tarrant County medical examiner for an autopsy, which indicated no signs of foul play. An investigation to determine the cause of the baby’s death is underway and limited information was being released Monday due to the ongoing investigation.
Brownwood Police officials stated that all deaths are investigated as standard procedure. Authorities said that further details will be released as the investigation progresses.
