Patsy LaNell Beeman Johnson, 73, left Community Hospice on Monday, April 1, 2013, to go to her heavenly home to join her parents and family.
She was born April 29, 1938, in Brownwood, Texas, the daughter of Mabel Harris Beeman and Joseph Fain Beeman. She was married to Gerald Johnson on Dec. 22, 1967, in Odessa, Texas. She had been a longtime member of the Primitive Baptist Church for more than 50 years and was known to have always been faithful to attend.
Patsy was a cashier at Walmart for more than 25 years. She was also a homemaker. Patsy loved doing arts and crafts, sewing and crocheting. She and her granddaughter, Elizabeth, went to as many shows as they could. She had a passion for genealogy and tracing family history. She also loved to read and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Gerald Johnson; a daughter, Judy Lamb and husband Michael of Early; and a son, Don Johnson of Early; six grandchildren, PV2 Perry Lamb, U.S. Army, Hawaii, Elizabeth Lamb of Early, Wesley, Bradley and Riley Johnson all of Pflugerville, C.J. Lamb and wife Mynda of Brownwood; great-granddaughter Adalynn Kay Lamb of Brownwood; three sisters, Peggy Anderson and husband Joe of Midland, Sherry Shelton and husband Bob of Arlington Sandra Walker and husband Robert of Mildland, as well as several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her loving church family from the Brownwood Primitive Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be conducted by Elder Vance Rodgers and David McKamey at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 6, at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Bangs Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
