Family and friends of Nancy Sprowls will host a benefit lunch on Friday, July 17 beginning at 11:30 a.m. The fundraiser will be held at J & E Recycled Reading, located at 1217 Coggin Avenue in Brownwood.
Meals consisting of pulled pork sandwiches, beans, chips and a drink will be offered at $7 each. For delivery of meals, please call 325-203-3073.
All funds raised will benefit Nancy Sprowls, to help her with remaining medical bills, other related expenses incurred with her struggle to fight lung cancer, and her impending funeral.
Ms. Sprowls is the mother of three children, all of which have served in the U.S. Military. She has 7 grandchildren and has been a foster parent to several children over the years. She has come to be known by many family and friends as “Grammy.” She was an active member of the Brownwood band boosters and worked the concession stand at the Brownwood Lions football games for many years.She was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer less than a month ago and has put up a strong and determined fight, but her health has declined rapidly resulting in her treatments being stopped. She was on a fixed income and had no life insurance. Family and friends are working to raise money to help with medical and the cost of her impending funeral.
