A collision at 15th Street and Brady Avenue sent one to the hospital Monday morning.

Shortly after 8:00am, a GMC extended cab pickup struck the driver’s side door of a four-door Saturn passenger car, sending the male driver of the car to the hospital.

According to Brownwood Police on scene, the driver of the pickup was traveling northeast on Brady, when it failed to yield the right-of-way to the Saturn which was traveling northwest on Brady Avenue, striking the driver’s side door as the two vehicles collided.

When emergency responders arrived, the driver of the Saturn was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by fire crews. The driver was transported by Guardian EMS to Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room for treatment of his injuries. His condition was not known at the time of the accident.

The pickup received front-end damage (pictured below) and the Saturn had major damage to its driver’s side. A stop sign on the northeast side of the intersection was knocked down and damaged during the accident.
