Matthew Derek “Matt” Adams, age 62, of Blanket, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends on Wednesday, January 8, 2020. He was born August 27, 1957 in Ellendale, North Dakota.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, John and Beulah Southard; sister, Candace Patricia Adams; and his dog & friend Gizmo.
Matt is survived by his loving wife, Ramona Adams; two sons, Shaine & wife Michelle and Trevor; daughter, Angela Sakai & husband Tommy; stepson, Zackary Quinn & wife Sabrina; stepson Caden Ellis; stepdaughter Kylie Ellis; father, Derek Adams & wife Angie; sisters, Mary Bailey, Shirley Holt and husband Danny, Betty Wright and husband Eddie, Hazel Cubbage and husband Terry, Deborah Gilbert and husband Jimmie, Rebekah Counts and husband Jeff, Jacqueline Coronado and husband Adrian, Anjelica Lynn Adams and partner David Sierra; brothers, John Southard, Jr. and wife Winona, Charles Southard and wife Jackie, Jimmie Southard and wife Cindy, Roger Southard and wife Patricia, John Adams and wife Louise, Steve Adams and wife Robin; 8 grandchildren, Ryan Sakai, Kacie Brynn Sakai, Carson Sakai, Kierstin Belden and husband Bern, Cameron Quinn, Kailey Quinn, Zoey Quinn, Wilson Quinn, great grandson, Jaxson and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Matt owned his own business, Adam’s Dozer Service, and enjoyed working outdoors and working with his friends. He enjoyed quiet evenings at home with his wife Ramona and their pet Maxi, playing golf, watching football, and playing outdoors with his grandchildren.
The family will host a private Celebration of Life to honor Matt.
