Memorial services for Mary Lou Busby, age 65, of Early, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 21, at Heartland Church, 2845 Highway 279, Brownwood, with Pastor Ken Smith officiating. She passed away Sunday afternoon, August 15, at a local nursing home.
Mary was born January 31, 1945 in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of the late Austin Sr. and Betty Lou (Cox) Swafford. She had lived in Early for three years, having moved from Red Oak, where she had taught Special Education for more than 30 years. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother and best friend.
Survivors include her children, Paul and Starleen Cline of Brownwood, Anthony Ray Cline of Red Oak and Ronnie Wayne Cline of Early; grandchildren, Kevin Cline, Derick Cline, Nicky Cline, Brittany Cline, Chelsea Cline, Michael Eggia, Brandon Eggia, Melissa Morris, Ashley Cline, Ronnie Cline, Jr.; special grandchildren she was raising, Amber and Abby Poulter; 11 great grandchildren; brother Austin Swafford, Jr. and Virginia Groves.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her daughters, Melinda Lou Cline and Deanna Cline; sister, Patsy Rodda and brother-in-law, William Rodda.
