Brownwood News – On Wednesday, August 16th, at approximately 6 p.m., officers with the Brownwood Police Department were dispatched to the Dollar General Store at 315 E Commerce, regarding a report of Disorderly Conduct. The investigation led to filing a report for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Endangering a Child.

Officers arrived on scene and contacted the complainant and his family. According to the report, officers were informed that as the family walked toward the entrance of the store, a white pickup truck turned in front of the store and ‘swerved’ in a way which made them believe they were going to be hit. This alarmed the family greatly as they were walking with their 5 year old child. The family was later confronted inside the store by the driver who threatened to harm them once they left the store.

The driver of the truck is known to the family, and was identified to police.

Police are currently investigating the matter.
