Mills County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a construction worker who died from injuries after falling from a cell phone tower in Mills County off of County Road 573 S. near Mullin.
According to law enforcement officials, 52-year-old Jesus Govea of Corsicana fell from the tower while he was working for a local construction company. Mills County Chief Deputy Clint Hammonds said that Govea was working on the tower at approximately 11:45am Thursday morning when a brace gave way causing him to fall 50 feet.
According to Mills County Sheriff Douglas Storey, EMS transported Govea to Brownwood Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead. Family was notified Thursday.
According to Hammons, the OSHA office from Fort Worth is continuing the investigation.
