Brownwood News –  One of the Pecan Valley Kiwanis Club member’s (Morris Horton) wife, Janice Horton, and a group of her friends from the Austin Avenue Church of Christ; Carolyn Rogers. Julie Washburn, Darlene Gressett, and Darla Keesee, are going the extra mile in helping our community during this pandemic. This group of ladies has made over 400 face masks so far, and will continue to produce mask as long as they are needed.  Carolyn Rogers is leading this effort by coordinating with medical providers and nursing homes in our area, They have even distributed in San Angelo.

According to Janice Horton, “we are using 100% cotton fabric of the type used by quilters, and 1/4″ wide elastic, although that has become scarce and 1/8″ or 3/8″ elastic can be used instead.  Its fun seeing the variety of fabrics we have on hand, or that are being donated, put to this good purpose.”

Thank you, Ladies, for going well above the call of duty with these efforts.
