Friday, April 13th

  • A Brownwood PD Officer was dispatched to the 1500 block of Dublin St in reference to a power line laying in the roadway. It was discovered that the power line had been snagged by tractor truck and trailer. The driver exited his vehicle and observed the damage, but refused to notify anyone. The driver of the truck left prior police arrival. Witnesses were able to identify a possible suspect, the investigation is on going.
  • A Brownwood PD Officer was dispatched to 5th Street and Ave. A for a dog bite. The victim stated he was walking when a pit bull came out of the yard at the 1700 block of Ave. A and bit him on the right leg leaving a puncture wound. Contact was made with owner to obtain vaccination records.

Saturdaty, April 14th

  • 9:12 a.m. Brownwood Police responded to call regarding possible fraud. A victim reported that his ex-girlfriend forged his name on several loans and a vehicle title. An active report was generated.
  • Brownwood Police was notified by Wal-Mart Asset Protection of a theft that had just occurred. The suspect was unable to be located at the time and a report was generated.
  • Brownwood Police was dispatched to the 300 block of Fisk Ave. for a DUI. Upon arriving police made contact with subject, who was later arrested for driving while intoxicated, duty on striking unattended vehicle, and duty on striking fixture/ highway landscape & transported to the Brown County Jail where he was processed and released to jail staff.
  • Brownwood Police responded to a north side residence in reference to a report of Credit/Debit Card Abuse.
  • 10:37p.m. Brownwood Police was dispatched to a South Brownwood residence in reference to a Burglary of a Building. Upon arrival, contact was made with the complainant who advised police that their storage shed was broken into and some tools were stolen. A report was generated and completed.

Sunday, April 15th

  • Officers responded to a south side residence in reference to a criminal mischief report involving a vehicle which had the tires slashed over night.
  • 6 p.m. Brownwood Police was dispatched to the 500 block of 5th Street for a theft. Upon arriving, police spoke with the complainant who stated someone stole her A TV. A report was generated and investigation continues.
