Law enforcement arrests and reports released Friday, August 28, 2015:
Thursday, August 27
*8:29 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Main Street regarding an unwanted person. According to the report, a male subject had been identified and was found to have allegedly threatened the complainant because she reported him to law enforcement for committing an offense. As a result of this call, 31-year-old Dustin Herrick was arrested for obstruction or retaliation.
*9:28 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a property on County Road 120 regarding a suspicious trailer left on the complainant’s property. The owner of the trailer was identified and the trailer was released to the owner.
*10:29 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 700 block of Avenue D regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, the complainant stated he had assaulted his wife; however, when the wife returned to the residence she stated no assault had occurred. Due to conflicting stories, no primary aggressor or whether an assault had occurred could be determined and the parties were separated.* 11:00 AM – An Early Police officer stopped a vehicle in the 900 block of Early Blvd. According to the report, while talking to the driver, the officer noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. When officers asked the driver, identified as 23-year-old Brian Shamblin of Austin, about the odor, Shamblin stated he had approximately 3 ounces of marijuana in the vehicle, the report states. Officers searched the vehicle and located the marijuana along with drug paraphernalia and hydrocodone pills, according to the report. Shamblin and the passenger, identified as 20-year-old Ember Furlough of Austin, were arrested and each charged with possession of marijuana, possession of controlled substance penalty group 3 and possession of drug paraphernalia. Furlough also had an outstanding warrant from Travis County.
*11:48 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Cordell Street regarding theft. According to the report, $60 was stolen from an apartment.
*12:34 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding the burglary of a habitation. According to the report, a flatbed trailer with a stainless steel refrigerator was stolen from the residence.
*1:12 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 900 block of 8th Street regarding the burglary of a habitation. According to the report, electronic items were stolen from the residence.
*3:08 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the area of 4th and Rogan Streets regarding the theft of tools.
*5:31 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the area of Main and Baker Street regarding a hit and run accident.
* 11:00 PM – An Early Police officer checked a suspicious vehicle parked next to a business in the 500 block of Early Blvd. According to the report, when the officer questioned the individual in the car, 35-year-old Thomas Roy Holland of Brownwood stated that he had just left a room at the motel next door. While talking to Holland, the officer could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle, the report states. He questioned Holland about the odor and Holland admitted to having smoked some recently but didn’t have any with him, according to the report. Officers then searched the vehicle and located 1.3 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, the report states. Holland was arrested for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 1 gram less than 4 grams and possession delivery of drug paraphernalia.
Following the suspicious vehicle stop, another EPD officer, assisted by BCSO Cpl Thomas, then made contact with the individuals in the hotel room mentioned by Holland, identified as 36-year-old Justin Hayden Brown and 37-year-old Reginald Jones, the report states. Brown and Jones were questioned about Holland having just left the room with methamphetamine and paraphernalia, according to the report. One of the officers observed a set of scales and a marijuana pipe sitting on the table beside the bed, and upon searching the room, more methamphetamine was located along with paraphernalia, the report states. Both Jones and Brown were placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram and possession of drug paraphernalia.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 31-year-old Carrie Lyn Cox of Brownwood on a warrant related to theft.
*Brownwood Police arrested23-year-old Dustin Tyler Crosby of Brownwood on warrants related to two counts burglary of a habitation, driving while license invalid, fail to control speed, operation unregistered motor vehicle, and failure to maintain financial responsibility.
*Brownwood Police arrested 30-year-old Savannah Shepherd of Gorman on Eastland warrants related to forgery of a financial instrument and burglary of a habitation.
Friday, August 28
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 34-year-old Jacob Allen Davis of Brownwood pm a warrant related to theft by check.
*Brownwood Police arrested 23-year-old Anjanee Elizabeth Gray of Brownwood for manufacture delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone.
*Brownwood Police arrested 20-year-old Brandon Michael Hampton of Brownwood on a warrant related to aggravated sexual assault of a child. Hampton was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond as of Friday morning.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 30-year-old Dustin Kyle Hawkins of Crosby on a warrant related to failure to appear/theft of services.
*Brownwood Police arrested 38-year-old Jeremy Damon Kelcy of Blanket for public intoxication.
*Brownwood Police arrested 54-year-old Mary Ann Nickelson of Brownwood on a warrant related to manufacture delivery of a dangerous drug.
*Brownwood Police arrested 39-year-old Michael Anthony Wright of Brownwood on a warrant related to unlawful interception/use/disc wire/oral electronic communication.
