Brownwood Police Department is currently investigating the sexual assault of a woman Tuesday night just before 10:30pm.

According to Assistant Police Chief James Fuller, the woman arrived at her home after returning from a local business when an unknown male approached her and then sexually assaulted her.

The woman was exiting her vehicle when the man approached and then forced her into the residence on Avenue A in Brownwood where the assault occurred, the report states.

As of Wednesday morning, no arrest has been made, and no suspect information was available; however the investigation is ongoing.

Monday, January 23

*6:30am-Brownwood Police were called to a domestic disturbance in the 2200 block of Avenue D.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her husband had fled the scene in his pickup after striking her in the chin this morning during an argument.

*9:08am-A Brownwood Police officer was flagged down in the 600 block of Coggin Avenue regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  According to the report, the complainant stated that someone had broken into a pickup through an unsecured sliding rear window and removed several items from the pickup.  A neighbor also reported that his Jeep had also been burglarized.  The report states that the Jeep’s soft top had been sliced to gain entry and that several items were also removed from the Jeep’s interior.  There is a possible suspect and the investigation of these two incidents is ongoing.

*11:41am-Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of Belle Plain regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant stated that all the air had been let out of the tires on her vehicle and a note was left on the vehicle.  The complainant stated that she suspected an ex-boyfriend had committed the offense but gave limited information on him to police, the report states.  The note was taken and secured as evidence at Brownwood Police Department.

*1:57pm-Brownwood Police were contacted regarding a scam which resulted in theft between $1500-20,000.  According to the report, the complainant stated that he had been scammed out of a large amount of money.  The complainant wishes to pursue charges according to the report.

*3:23pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to 401 W. Commerce, Wal-Mart, regarding theft.  According to the report, David Villarreal, Jr. of Deleon was arrested for shoplifting.  Items stolen included approximately 20 food items, 4 t-bone & rib eye steaks, 4 pairs of jeans, bath tissue, cookware, two multipacks of beer, a 36 quart cooler, bath tissue, and other items which totaled $455.01.  Villarreal was arrested for Theft Greater than $50 Less than $500 and all items were returned to the store.

Tuesday, January 24

*10:24am-Brownwood Police were called to the 3700 block of Savoy Drive regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant had ordered two cellular phones from AT&T wireless which showed to have been delivered on January 21st and left by USPS in her mailbox.  The phones were never received by the complainant who believes someone has stolen the package containing the phones.  An investigation is ongoing and there were no suspects at the time of the report.

*11:14am-The Brownwood City Marshal attempted to serve two warrants in the 2300 block of 10th Street on 34-year-old Joseph Waymon Phillips.  According to the report, a neighbor reported to have not seen the Phillips who was living at the residence.  A tall male answered the door and stated that Phillips was not home and when the marshal asked how the man was related to Phillips, he said he was a brother, the report states.  After a short investigation, the marshal learned from a neighbor that the man he was talking to was in fact Phillips.  The marshal returned to the residence and arrested Phillips for the two warrants and a new charge of Failure to Identify by Giving False Information.

*2:50pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to 401 W. Commerce, Wal-Mart, regarding criminal trespass.  A suspect with a criminal trespass issued for this location was seen leaving the parking lot as police arrived, the report states.  An arrest is anticipated for this incident according to police.

*Approximately 4:30pm a Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy made a traffic stop in the 600 block of W. Commerce.  According to the deputy, the driver, 28-year-old Jerry Allen Leonard, attempted to toss a baggie containing marijuana from his car.  Leonard was arrested for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz. and Tamper/Fabricate Physical Evidence.

*7:25pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of N. Greenleaf regarding a medical emergency.  Communications advised officers that the male subject was possibly having seizures and that EMS on scene had been advised that an assault had occurred.  An investigation determined that two separate assaults had occurred at the residence

*8:45pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to an assault in the 1600 block of 14th Street.  According to the report, the complainant stated that she and her brother had been in an argument and that he had pushed her into the floor then hit her in the face.

Wednesday, January 25

*Brownwood Police arrested 23-year-old Jacob Alonzo Gomez for Driving While License Invalid with Previous Convictions.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Barbara Adams Heimann, age 71 of San Saba, passed away on January 23, 2012. Barbara was born on July 24, 1940 to Arthur and Alma Wooley in San Antonio, Texas. She was a long-time resident of San Saba County where she worked for many years at Eventide Nursing Home. Barbara will best be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her children: Alan Adams of Devine, Texas; Jodie Sultenfuss & husband, Willy of Floresville, Texas; Dorothy Harrell & husband, Junior of San Saba; Laura Ricciardi & husband, David of Cedar Park, Texas; William Heimann & wife, Brenda of LaVernia, Texas; Shirley Ann Gulley & husband, Kenny of St. Hedwig, Texas; Gerald Heimann & wife, Ida of Stockdale, Texas; Sherry Williams & husband, Gary of El Paso, Texas; Stephanie Seidenberger of New Braunfels, Texas; and Jennifer Heimann of New Braunfels, Texas. She also leaves behind twenty four grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Heimann, her son, Steve Adams, a great grandson, Kaleb Sultenfuss, and numerous brothers and sisters.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 27, 2012 at Blaylock Funeral Chapel in San Saba. Burial to follow in the Harris Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Blaylock Funeral Chapel on Thursday, January 26, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Arrangements under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Chapel.
