Saturday, December 14

*8:00 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, while the complainant was staying at the Heart of Texas Baptist Encampment, located on FM 2525, someone had taken a pair of scissors from the cab of his pickup without his consent.  He also stated that someone had entered his camper trailer without his consent and had taken a pair of scissors, the report states.  The complainant also reported someone had disconnected the battery cables from the battery terminals on his pickup, according to the report.

Monday, December 16

*7:35 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2800 block of Southside Drive regarding an unwanted person.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her ex-boyfriend had been beating on her front door and had been looking into her windows.  At the complainant’s request, the male subject was issued a criminal trespass warning for the residence.

*9:03 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of Avenue B regarding theft of property.  According to the report, the complainant stated that an acquaintance had stolen her cell phone and medication after they had gone to eat together.

*12:09 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 100 block of Graham Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  According to the report, the complainant stated that sometime between 8:00 a.m. and 12:09 p.m., an unknown suspect(s) broke out the driver’s side window of the complainant’s vehicle and stole a wallet.  Inside the wallet was $40 cash, a credit card and the complainant’s driver’s license.

*1:47 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding the theft of medication.

*1:55 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of E. Commerce for a warrant service.  According to the report, a warrant was to be served to Dustin Atkins, who had double locked himself in the hotel room where he is staying when police arrived and knocked on the door.  For 28 minutes, officers tried to talk to Atkins and get him to open the door; however, he would not and eventually officers had to get management to bring a master key and maintenance to bring an apparatus that would unlock the deadbolt as well as a hammer to break the chain that was also keeping the door secured, the report states.  Once the door was opened, Atkins was served the warrant and arrested, he was also additionally charged with resisting arrest, although he did not actively fight or try to run, but because he double locked the door and refused to unlock the door, although he knew that police were there to serve a warrant for his arrest.

*4:27 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 700 block of Booker regarding the burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, sometime between 8:40 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. this date, an unknown suspect made entry into the residence and stole approximately $600 in coins.  The complainant wished to pursue charges if a suspect can be identified, the report states.

*10:45 PM – Brownwood Police were called to Wal-Mart regarding theft.  According to the report, two female suspects had stolen $71 worth of merchandise from the store.

*10:46 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop of a suspicious vehicle in the 3400 block of Hoover Avenue.  According to the report, during the investigation, marijuana was located.  As a result of this stop, 18-year-old Samuel Essary was arrested and charged with marijuana less than 2 ounces.

*39-year-old James Michael Helms turned himself in on a warrant related to motion to adjudicate/driving with license invalid.
