LaVerne C. Roberts, 96, went to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday November 12, 2019 in Keller, Texas.
Graveside service will be at 10 AM, Tuesday, November 19, 2019, in Brownwood at Greenleaf Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-7 PM Monday evening at the Davis-Morris funeral home.
LaVerne, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home.
The daughter of Faro and Eva Chadwick, she was born December 21, 1922, in Brownwood. She graduated from Brownwood High School and married Austin L. Roberts on August 14, 1944 at Brownwood First Baptist Church after they met at Camp Bowie. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution – Mary Garland Chapter, and a founding member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Welcome W Chandler Chapter. She was the niece of long time Brownwood educator Nealie Moore.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Austin. Survivors include son Ladd Roberts and wife Patti, daughter Jane Handlin and husband Larry, and son Don Roberts and wife Marcie; 6 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
