Howard Payne University honored faculty and staff members during a recognition luncheon on April 29 in the Bullion Suites of the Mabee University Center.
Dr. Daresa Voss, professor of education, was named the recipient of the “Outstanding Faculty Member Award” for 2011. Paul and Jill Underwood presented the award, which is made possible by Underwood’s Bar-B-Q.
Lana Wagner, registrar, received the “Outstanding Staff Member Award.” Robert Porter and his wife, Sally, presented the award, which is made possible by the family of the late Dr. Gene Porter and his widow, Bernice Porter Paul.
“Excellence in Teaching” certificates were presented to Dr. Athena Bean, assistant professor of psychology and university counselor
; Dr. Bill Fowler, assistant professor of Christian studies; Dr. Matthew McNiece, chair of the Department of Geography, History and Political science and associate professor of political science; Joshua Pickens, assistant professor of art; and Dr. Elizabeth Wallace, professor of music.
“Excellence in Service” certificates were presented to Darla Collier, cashier; and Eydie Henderson, administrative assistant for the School of Christian Studies.
