Harvey J. Hatfield age 88 of Bangs, Texas died, Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Abilene Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Dodd and Ronnie White officiating. Interment will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 20, 2011 at the Grady Cemetery in Grady, New Mexico.
Harvey was born in Sheldon, Missouri on September 20, 1922 to parents Oscar Davis and Rena Myrtle Hawkins Hatfield. He attended school in El Dorado Springs and served in the U.S. Army Medical Corp.
On May 1, 1955, he met and married Bessie Leola LaGrone in Grady, New Mexico. She preceded him in death January 10, 2011. After living in Dallas for twenty four years where he first owned and operated a barber shop, they moved to Bangs in 1974 where he had a barber shop until his death.Harvey was a member of the Masonic Lodge, was a Baptist and attended New Testament Holiness Church. He enjoyed gardening and raising emus and ostriches.

Son: David Hatfield of Honolulu, Grady, New Mexico and Bangs
Granddaughter: Lacey Hatfield of Yucaipa, California
Grandson: Shae Hatfield of Austin
Sisters: Evelyn Pliscott and husband Carl of Waco; Lola Faye Hodde and husband Nolen of Waco and Myrtle Sherrill of California.
Brother: Gerald Hatfield and wife Elizabeth of Waco.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, J.D. Hatfield, son John Hatfield and a sister Alice Boyd.
