On Sunday, May 22, 2016, Gary Ross Atchley passed quietly from this life in the comfort of his home with Deborah, his wife of twenty-one years, by his side. Family visitation will be at Davis-Morris Funeral Home in Brownwood from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, Tuesday, May 24th, with funeral services at Scranton Cemetery, at 2:00pm, Wednesday, May 25th.
Gary was a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, working to help other alcoholics and addicts find a sober life. His calm demeanor provided others a platform to work toward healing and recovery. He touched many lives in Sherman, Stephenville, and Brownwood.
He is survived by his wife Deborah, his daughter Emily, sisters Glenna Perrin, Kristi DuBose and husband Stephen, brother Ron Atchley and wife Karen, grandchildren Michael and fiancé Callie, Hannah, and Leah, along with several nieces and nephews, mother-in-law Lois, cousin Lezlea, Diana, and many special friends.
