FarmBureauLogoJeff Davis, a firefighting volunteer from Lake Brownwood Volunteer Fire Department in Brown County was one of the nearly 3,000 Texas firemen this year to graduate from the 85th Annual Municipal Fire School held July 20-25 at the Brayton Fire Training Field on the Texas A&M University campus in College Station.

Representing firefighting personnel from more than 750 cities in 25 states, the annual school educates firemen on a variety of subjects, including specialized fire suppression and rescue techniques, emergency dispatching, officer training, fire investigations and more.

Brown County Farm Bureau and Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Companies sponsor a fireman from a local fire department each year.  More than 125 county Farm Bureaus statewide have sent firemen to the school.

“It is our hope in sponsoring this program that the fireman will help the Lake Brownwood Volunteer Department better serve the residents of Brown County,” said County Farm Bureau President Kenneth Dierscheke.
