Those who have traveled between Brownwood and Early on Early Boulevard in recent months usually expect heavy traffic and delays as one half of the lanes of traffic have been blocked off due to construction.
TxDOT’s public information department recently said that they hope to have all 4 lanes of traffic open by deer season. Work will continue after that time period, but opening the 4 lanes will help the flow of traffic through the area tremendously.
TxDOT did not commit to a specific date for this to happen and said that this is tentative depending on weather and any other unforeseen circumstances. Deer season opens November 7th.
The Early police department has reported numerous incidences and traffic accidents in the construction zone in recent weeks. Dove season and deer season typically show and increase in traffic along Early Boulevard as hunters arrive to the area.
This week, workers began construction of the curbed center medians that will be installed along the construction zone on Early Blvd and on Hwy 183 N that connects to it.
