ChildrensCamp2012_1

The Lyric Theatre Children’s camp began on Monday, June 4th with 32 students learning about the theater, not only the production side but also the history, making it a well rounded learning experience.

The children’s camp runs through this week and next and culminates with two performances by the students on Friday, June 15th and Saturday, June 16th, “A Mid-Summer’s Night Christmas.”

While attending camp, children who have completed kindergarten through high school are learning the basics of acting and techniques. They are being cast, directed, and will perform before audiences in 2 shows open to the public, in addition to learning about the heart of the theater in versatile methods including crafts, media, and hands-on activities. This year’s children’s camp activities are under the direction of Caitlyn Tidwell and Sara Musgrove at the Howard Payne University Theatre.

Tickets are also on sale now for the two performances at the end of camp. Visit the
