ConnellyClintChristopher “Clint” Connelly, age 38, of Early, was called home to his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 24, 2016.

Clint was born May 1, 1978 in Abilene.  He went to school in Cross Plains and graduated from Coleman High School in 1997.  He graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos in 2001 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Wildlife Biology and Chemistry.  After graduating from college, Clint went on to start his own business, Connelly Road Boring Services.  With his strong work ethic and determination, Clint turned his business into a successful company traveling across the country providing various services through trenchless technology.

In 2009 Clint found the person he referred to as his “best friend and soul mate” and took her to be his wife on New Year’s Eve of that same year.  Clint was an avid fan of the Rangers, Texas Longhorns, and Dallas Cowboys.

He loved sponsoring and supporting not only his girls in various activities, but other kids in the community as well.  He was hard in business, but a softy in child rearing.  When it came to his girls, he could never say no which led him to raise Longhorn cattle.  He did it all.  He taught the girls hunting and fishing, muddin’ on 4 wheelers, learning to drive, and even shopping for prom dresses.  He was a family man and enjoyed taking care of and spending time with the loves of his life.

Clint is survived by his wife, soul mate and best friend, Jennifer Shults Connelly of Early; daughters Shauna Kay, Emma, and Guyer of Early and Cameron of El Paso; parents Chris and Cynthia Connelly of Burkett; mother-in-law and father-in-law Guy Bob and Debbie Shults of Early; brother Chance and his son Gage Connelly of Cross Plains; brother Lance and his daughter Trista Connelly of Cross Plains; brother-in-law Shaun Shults and wife Molly of Early and their children Reagan and Cooper; grandmothers Avelene (Shorty) Bowers of Coleman and Charlyne Connelly of Burkett; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Clint was preceded in death by his grandfathers John Bowers Junior and Tommie J. Connelly and grandmother Bobbye Collett.

Services for Clint Connelly will be held Monday, August 29, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Early First Baptist Church in Early.  Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.  Visitation will be held Sunday, August 28, 2016 from 6-7 p.m. at Heartland Funeral Home in Early.
