The City of Brownwood’s Parks & Recreation Department released their preliminary plans for the upcoming Camp Bowie Family Aquatic Facility and are expected to get the process of building the facility kicked off very soon.

The city council is expected to get things kicked off this week with expected approval of the opening of bids for the project on October 8th.  The tentative completion date for this $2.2 million project is May 29th, 2010.

The planned facility is scheduled to have features for different age groups to enjoy.

The Camp Bowie Family Aquatic Facility is set to include the following features (see corresponding number on photos below):

 

  1. Leisure Pool
  2. Slide Tower
  3. Interactive Water Geysers
  4. Themed Tot Slide
  5. Raindrop
  6. Bath House
  7. Coolbrellas
  8. Group Shelter
  9. Hydrotherapy Bench
  10. Diving Well
  11. 4 Lap Lanes
  12. Current Channel
  13. Zero Entry Beach
  14. Filtration Building

The planned parking lot is to have 132 standard parking spots and 4 handicap spots.
