Brownwood News – The City of Brownwood is an authorized provider for the American Red Cross and will be accepting Registrations for the Summer Learn to Swim Program. Registration will be at the Camp Bowie Family Aquatic Center at 3201 Milam Drive starting 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. on June 5th and 6th.

There are limited instructors, so registration will be limited to a first come, first serve basis. If you are not sure what swim level your child is currently, instructors will be able to test them in the water. Children do need to be prepared to enter the water.

Minimum age is 4 years old.

The three “Learn to Swim Sessions” will  have 45 minute classes beginning:

  • June 19th thru June 29th – 8 a.m. or 9 a.m.
  • July 10th thru July 20th – 8 a.m. or 9 a.m.
  • July 24th thru Aug 3rd – 8 a.m. or 9 a.m.

Entry fees are $50 per session per student. Scholarships are available. For more information, contact: Parks and Recreation Director David Withers at (325) 646-0146
