The first night of Brownwood’s Christmas Under the Stars Festival on Friday was a huge success according to organizers.  Hundreds of kids and parents enjoyed all of the great activities, competitions, and entertainment that the festival had to offer.   KTAB news broadcasted their 5pm and 6pm news live from the festival showing off all of the fun happenings.

Highlights of day one included photos with Santa at the Lehnis Railroad Museum while Mrs. Claus passed out candy in the Depot Civic and Cultural Center.  The Depot also featured Christmas story time, karaoke, a dance competition, letters to Santa, and the Christmas photo contest.  Food, fun, and games were the theme at Adams Street Community Center with a variety of arts and craft projects, face and nail painting, live entertainment by local talent, and tons of delicious food.   All of these great activities and attractions and more will be happening again on Saturday, December 3rd from 4-8pm. There will also be a food drive to benefit Good Samaritan Ministries and a toy drive to benefit the Toys for Kids program in the Depot.  Salvation Army is also hosting a coat and blanket drive in Adams Street Community Center.

In addition, several competitions will take place on Saturday as a part of the festival.   Saturday’s competitions include:
