Burgess Stewardson of Santa Anna, Texas passed from this life to be with his Lord on Friday, November 1, 2019 at 8:01 am at the San Saba Nursing and Rehab at the age of 83 years.
Services will be Monday, November 4, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Santa Anna with Rev. Kathy Monroe and Rev. Jasper McClellan officiating. Interment will follow at the Stewardson Cemetery with services under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday from 4:00 till 5:30 pm at Henderson Funeral Home
He was born William Burgess Stewardson on March 10, 1936 at Sealy Hospital in Santa Anna, Texas to William Theodore and Jessie Ella Vance Stewardson. Burgess was raised on the Stewardson Ranch south of Santa Anna and attended school at Shields and graduated from Santa Anna High School in 1954. On November 5, 1955 Burgess married the love of his life Gayle Deane Ellis in San Saba, Texas and they have celebrated sixty three years of marriage.
Burgess was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Coleman Rodeo Association, and was a director of the Santa Anna National Bank. He proudly lived his life on the Stewardson Ranch where he farmed and ranched.
