The Boys and Girls Club of Brown County is facing some serious money problems. The number of kids who are interested in participating in the program has nearly doubled, but the amount of donations has severely decreased.
The center says they need to raise at least $100,000 by the end of the year to keep the program going. The poor economy has resulted in less monthly donations from surrounding businesses that used to support the club.
Some local businesses are trying to prevent the center from closing by planning fundraisers.
On Saturday November 14th, the Brownwood Walmart is hosting a party in their front parking lot, to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club.
If anyone is interested in helping out, they can donate money directly to the club as well.
Those interested in making a donation can call 325-641-2582 or mail to P.O. Box 488 Brownwood, TX 76804.
