The special dedication of a recently installed flag pole was held Monday, May 20th at Brownwood Fire Department Station 2.
Boy Scouts Troop 14, neighbors to Station 2, performed a flag raising ceremony at 6:30 p.m. to commemorate the installation of the pole.
Donated to the Boy Scouts for their former headquarters which was located on Adams Street, the flag pole had to be taken down to construct a new fire station for Brownwood Fire Department and city officials asked that the pole be moved to BFD Station 2. The pole still belongs to the Boy Scouts according to BFD officials; however its use is marked at the fire station with a commemorative plaque.Pictured above is Boy Scouts Troop 14 during the flag raising ceremony.
