Brownwood News – Art students at Brownwood Middle School (BMS) contributed decorated bowls for the annual Good Samaritan Ministries Empty Bowls fundraising event. Good Samaritan provided the bowls and glaze. During their classes, BMS Art students provided creative decorations for each of the bowls. The bowls were then fired in the BMS Art room kiln, so students were able to see the finished results before sending the bowls to the event.

In addition, BMS Art teacher, Julie Mize, was one of several local artists who was asked to decorate a heart-shaped bowl to celebrate Good Samaritan Ministries’ 25th anniversary. Those bowls will be part of a silent auction to raise extra funds at the Empty Bowls event. This is the 11th year BMS has participated by decorating bowls.

This year’s event will be held at the Brownwood Coliseum on Thursday, April 5.
