Monday, July 28

*6:09 PM – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident with injuries at Broadway and CC Woodson Road.

*11:44 PM – BFD was called to an agency assist in the 200 block of Fisk Street.  Fire crews provided a ladder for the police department to help remove subjects off the second floor of Sid Rich Hall. A firefighter climbed the ladder and assisted each person down. There were no injuries.

Wednesday, July 30

*3:00 PM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 300 block of E. Commerce where the driver of a truck thought his trailer was on fire.  The incident was determined to be a bad wheel bearing.

Thursday, July 31

*7:14 AM – BFD responded to a hazardous material call in the 1700 block of Houston Street.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find that a gas meter in the alley had been struck and was leaking.  Atmos was notified and arrived on scene.

*2:16 PM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 700 block of Walnut.  Fire crews arrived on scene with police to find a fire in a trash can.

Saturday, August 2

*8:20 PM – BFD responded to Alamo Ct. for a public assist.  Arrived on scene and spoke to the homeowner who had discovered a large hive of bees.  An exterminator was contacted and he informed fire crews that the bees were moving through this area and would be gone with 24 to 48 hours.  Homeowner agreed to leave the bees alone.

Sunday, August 3

*3:35 AM – BFD was called to a fire in the 1600 block of Avenue E.  The incident was determined to be a false alarm.

*8:37 AM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 100 block of Early Blvd.  Firefighters were dispatched with Early Volunteer Fire Department and arrived on scene to find the fire was out. The thermal camera was used to search for fire extension.

*10:44 PM – BFD responded to a single vehicle accident in the 3500 block of 4th Street involving a vehicle striking a utility pole. Fire Crews assisted ambulance crews with loading the patient for transport.
