Monday, July 7

*1:25 PM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in on County Road 237 where firefighters arrived on the scene of a small grass fire with Winchell and Brookesmith Volunteer Fire Departments.  The VFDs had the fire knocked down and fire crews began mopping up.

*9:08 PM – BFD was called to a fire in the 1300 block of Austin Avenue.  Firefighters arrived on scene regarding the smell of burned rubber in the area.  Fire Crews were unable to locate any smell.

Tuesday, July 8

*4:27 AM – BFD responded to a fire call in the 3000 block of 1st Street regarding a smoke detector activation.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find nothing showing.  Fire Crews investigated and found the drain line from the air conditioning of the residence was clogged and water was dripping on to the AC wiring. The occupants were advised to call an AC technician.

*11:51 AM – BFD was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries at Austin Avenue and Main Street.

*2:38 PM – BFD was called to a fire on County Road 153 to the report of a Brown County Sheriff’s deputy’s patrol car having fire in the trunk.  A battery in the trunk had shorted out and the officer on scene extinguished the fire.

*3:48 PM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 2500 block of Crockett Drive regarding a vehicle fire.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find light smoke coming from the passenger side of the vehicle.  Water was poured on the seat and the foam was cut out of the seat.

Wednesday, July 9

*10:03 AM – BFD responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 2100 block of Slayden Street involving a bicycle hitting a vehicle.  There were no injuries.

*11:39 PM – BFD was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Melwood involving single dirt bike.  There were no injuries.

Thursday, July 10

*10:06 AM – BFD responded to a hazardous materials call in the 100 block of Fisk Avenue where a vehicle had struck a gas meter.  Fire Crews shut off the gas and notified Atmos of the damage.

*10:28 PM – BFD was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident in the 800 block of Main Street.  Fire Crews provided traffic control and assisted EMS with loading of the patient.

Friday, July 11

*9:49 AM – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 8500 block of N. Hwy 279.  Firefighters assisted EMS with patient care and assisted with loading the patient for transport.

Saturday, July 12

*11:08 PM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 4100 block of Glenwood Drive. Fire crews arrived on scene to find a small fire in the backyard.

Monday, July 14

*6:52 PM – BFD was called to a fire in the 400 block of CC Woodson.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find a small cooking fire.  The fire was determined to be in the county.

Tuesday, July 15

*11:45 PM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 2300 block of US Hwy 67.  Firefighters arrived on scene at a railroad crossing to find BNSF trucks on scene.  Fire Crews were not needed.

Wednesday, July 16

*12:57 PM – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries on CC Woodson Road.

*9:22 PM – BFD was dispatched to a hazardous materials call in the 1500 block of Indian Creek regarding a gas leak. Fire crews arrived on scene to find that a burner on the stove had been left on.  The stove was turned off and windows were opened to vent.

Thursday, July 17

*5:34 AM – BFD responded to a fire call in the 2600 block of Vincent Street regarding a possible lightning strike to a house.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find nothing showing.  Units investigated and found that the fuse to the transformer in the back yard was blown and Oncor was notified.

*6:10 AM – BFD responded to a swift water rescue on Elizabeth Drive to the report of a person stuck in a vehicle that was in high water. Fire Crews pushed vehicle out of water.

*6:35 AM – BFD was dispatched to a swift water rescue at the Vine Street underpass.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a van stuck in the water.  Fire crews extracted the occupant from vehicle and then pulled the vehicle from the underpass.  The Street Department was requested to close the Vine Street underpass.

*7:50 AM – BFD responded to a single vehicle accident in the 1500 block of Main Street.  Fire Crews assisted with extracting occupant from vehicle.

Friday, July 18

*2:52 AM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 2300 block of Berkley Street regarding a structure fire.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a breaker box had smoke and heat damage and its wires appeared to be melted.  Fire Crews checked the inside of the residence with the thermal camera for any hot spots.  Nothing was found and Oncor was notified.

*5:44 PM – BFD responded to a single vehicle accident with no injuries on Calvert Road involving a motorcycle striking a telephone pole.

Saturday, July 19

*10:32 AM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 2700 block of Memorial Park Drive regarding an alarm activation.  Nothing found was found and the incident was determined to be a false alarm.
