6:15pm Update – From City Councilman Rick Phelps – “BANGS RESIDENTS: The boil water notice is in effect UNTIL—(AT MINIMUM) Monday or Tuesday. What this means is—ANY WATER used for drinking or cooking needs to be boiled. If you have a refrigerator with an icemaker, you should empty out the ice from that unit and disconnect the icemaker. It is safe to shower and bathe. Again, please make sure you are boiling ANY WATER for drinking or cooking consumption and empty out your ice machines (if you have one as part of your refrigerator unit) and disconnect the icemaker. Once the notice is lifted, I will notify you through my FB page, as well as the Brown County Independent page. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience today.”
2:15pm Update – Officials in Bangs have re-established power to the pumps and water is beginning to flow again. Pressure should continue to improve. Officials said that the boil water notice is still in place at this time.
10:15am Update – The City of Bangs has issued a boil water notice to its residents. An electrical issue caused the pumps to shut down. Bangs residents are asked to conserve water until further notice. Officials are working to fix the issue at this time.
9:45am – Residents in Bangs are experiencing low or no water pressure Saturday morning because of a pump issue, according to Bangs City Councilman Rick Phelps.
He said that city employees are currently working on the issue.
Bangs residents are asked to limit water use for the time being.
