AgriLifeExtensionThe Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Brown County will conduct an agricultural land leasing program beginning at 6 p.m. April 8 at the Brown County Fairgrounds located on U.S. Highway 377 South, Brownwood.

“This is the first time we’ve ever had a program on the leasing of agricultural land in Brown County,” said Scott Anderson, AgriLife Extension agent in Brown County. “Historically, ag lease prices have been pretty much ‘the best kept secret’ when it came to knowing what folks were paying, but apparently, times are changing.

“We are getting more phone calls and seeing increased interest in ag leases and easements from ag producers, landowners and others interested in leasing property. So this would be an excellent opportunity to attend a program here in Central Texas conducted by an expert on the subject to find out just what should be considered for inclusion in ag leases and easements, so both parties are treated fairly.”

Tiffany Dowell, AgriLife Extension agricultural law specialist at College Station, will provide the training, Anderson said. Her topics will include grazing and hunting leases, pipeline and power-line easements, and other agricultural leases.

Individual registration is $10 due upon arrival. For more information contact Anderson at 325-646-0386, sa-anderson@tamu.edu .
