At today’s Brownwood City Council meeting, City Manager Bobby Rountree issued a report on the 4th Street road construction. The south end of 4th St. has been under construction as a result of the city’s water line project, but neighbors will be pleased that the finishing of the road surface is about to move forward.
Rountree said that the city has been waiting for the gas company to complete the replacement of gas lines in the area. Rountree said, “The gas contractors tell us that they should be complete with their work today. If you will remember, that was one of the hold ups that we had…”
Rountree said that the city road workers will move in on Monday to start work on the road surface. It will take workers approximately 4 more weeks to be complete.
Rountree said, “Although it has been a pretty large project, it has gone fairly well. I guess if you live along that street, you may not think that, but it has gone fairly well and we will be out of there fairly soon.”
