Zelda Littleton Killough, age 95, of Brownwood passed away Monday, July 22, 2013 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Services for Zelda will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 25th at Blaylock Funeral Chapel with David Hudson officiating, visitation will follow after the service. A private interment will be held at a later date.
Zelda was born on May 23, 1918 to James and Essie Whitaker in San Antonio. She graduated from Devine High School. Zelda married Sherrille Littleton on July 21, 1937 in Devine, TX. Zelda was always involved in her local church and community. After moving to Brownwood in 1965, she worked at Howard Payne University in the boy’s dormitory as a dorm mother, touching many young people’s lives and making lasting friendships. Later she worked at Davis Floral.
She is survived by her son Richard Littleton and wife Cecilia of San Angelo, TX; daughters Carol Ann V’Soske and husband Paul of Grand Rapids, MI, Patsy Mitchell and husband Lynn of Blanket, TX; grandchildren Patricia Daniels and husband Ken, Rachelle Even and husband Paul, Amanda Mitchell, and Michael Mitchell and wife Melissa; five great-grandchildren; and sister Billie Alford of Arkansas.
She was preceded by husband Sherrille B Littleton; parents James and Essie Whitaker; brothers Walter L. Whitaker and James A. Whitaker.
