Funeral services for Yvonne Everts, age 84, of Brownwood, will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March17, 2010 at the Austin Avenue Church of Christ with Tom Washburn officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM, Thursday, at Hillside Memorial Gardens in Snyder. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
Mrs. Everts died Sunday, March 14, 2010 at her home.
Yvonne was born on January 16, 1926 in Boston, Massachusetts to Mitri and Mary Abdelahad. She married J. W. Everts on August 10, 1944 in San Francisco, California. Yvonne worked as the director of work programs for adults with special needs in Snyder.
In 1994, Yvonne moved from Snyder to Lake Brownwood to retire. She was a member of the Brady Avenue Church of Christ and later joined the Austin Avenue Church of Christ.
Yvonne is survived by two daughters, Helen Everts of Brownwood and Doris Woolery and husband Kirk of Brownwood, three granddaughters, Kristi Heistand of San Antonio, Stacey Utley of Weatherford, and Mindy Woolery of Lubbock, two great-granddaughters, Laedin Utley and Aubrey Heistand, two sisters, Linda Scottolera of Boston and Julia Battie of Boston, and a brother, Joe Abdelahad of Boston.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years, J. W. Everts, two sisters, Elaine Jones and Mabel Heinz.
