The Board of Greenleaf Cemetery will hold a service at to dedicate the new memorial honoring WWII Infants buried at Greenleaf. Up until now there has been no marker showing the burial field of these 115 infants, many born during the Camp Bowiedays of Brownwood.
The ceremony will be at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 29th at the cemetery and the community is cordially invited to attend.
Intensive research was done by Connie Wyatt, Leona Adams and Ann Stevens to find the “given” names of the infants. Four families contacted board members after the list of infants was published and said that they recognized a name.
The Board has had wonderful community support to be able to complete this project.
Rev. Mary D. D’Alessio will bring the meditation and a reception will follow.
