The annual Woodland Heights Second Grade Spelling Bee was held on Thursday, May 19th in the school library in front of a large crowd of parents and other spectators who were excited to see who the year’s champions would be.
The competition was as tough as the spelling words. Students had to spell words like elevator, autumn, parachute, handkerchief, hippopotamus, instrument, language, and magician.
In the end, five champions were left standing: Hunter Day, John Monson, Marina Sorola Yoshida, David Kline, and Christian Fijer (pictured above, left to right).
