TBECAccording to Ken Zornes, TBEC Executive Director, this is a very select group with less than 4% of the more than 8000 Texas public schools being honored.

The TBEC Honor Roll is very prestigious because it recognizes sustained academic excellence in Texas.  Only schools that have demonstrated three years of consistent, high performance in all subjects as compared to other schools serving similar student populations are given a place on the TBEC Honor Roll.

“Congratulations! Woodland Heights Elementary School has made the TBEC Honor Roll for 2010.  You and your school have truly earned a place on the Honor Roll through hard work and student achievement over an extended period of time,” stated Zornes in a letter to Woodland Heights informing them of the honor.  “We sincerely congratulate you, and your school on attaining this award.  We are delighted to have the opportunity to recognize your success…” continued Zornes.

TBEC Honor Roll Schools have the highest percentage of students performing at the state’s most rigorous standard, commended, in every subject.

Woodland Heights will be honored November 15th in Austin at the Eleventh Annual TBEC Honor Roll School seminar, reception, and dinner.  This is the sixth year Woodland has received this honor.

Congratulations to Woodland Heights Elementary and Brownwood ISD for another well deserved honor.
