District Attorney Michael Murray said that Pamela Sue Belveal plead guilty today to the charge of intoxication manslaughter, a second degree felony.
Belveal was indicted for an August 20th incident last year where Belveal ran over Robert Wayne LeBlanc with a pickup truck. LaBlanc was a former boyfriend of Belveal.
Murray said tests showed that at the time of the incident, Belveal had a blood alcohol concentration of .29 grams per 100ml of blood, which was 3.5 times the legal limit. In addition, blood test showed that Belveal was also under the influence of Lorazepam and carisoprodol, drugs with known sedative affect.
Belveal entered into a plea bargain with the State and received the maximum sentence of twenty years.
