Authorities received one lead Wednesday after searching the Mountain View area of Lake Brownwood for 76-year-old Richard Parker of Aquilla who has been missing since April 24th.
After seeing a broadcast about the missing man, witnesses contacted police and said that they recognized Parker from a recent trip they took to Lake Brownwood just a day after Parker disappeared. The witnesses said that they saw Parker drive into Mountain View Lodge as they also arrived. They told authorities that Parker left his pickup near a boat ramp and seemed somewhat disoriented. The witnesses spoke to him and helped him better park his vehicle. They last saw Parker looking in the bed of his pickup.
Although this new information did not reveal the missing man’s whereabouts, it sheds new light on the circumstances of his arrival to Lake Brownwood.
“We now know that he did arrive here in Brownwood with his truck,” stated Sheriff Bobby Grubbs.
Authorities are continuing their search around the lake area in hopes to find clues to Parker’s whereabouts.
Richard Parker is 6’2” tall, weighs 190 pounds and was last seen wearing a short-sleeve plaid shirt, dark blue jeans, black tennis shoes, and metal framed glasses. He suffers from dementia and is in need of medications for type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure.
Those with any information on Parker’s whereabouts should call the Hill County Sheriff’s Office at 254-582-5313 or the Brown County Sheriff’s Office at 325-646-5510.
