UPDATE – Accumulating snow likely across the Big Country late tonight through early afternoon on Thursday.
A powerful upper level low pressure system is forecast to track across the Concho Valley and Heartland early in the day on Thursday.
Meanwhile…cold air will be filtering down into the region on the back side of the system. A band of wrap-around precipitation…in the form of snow…is expected to develop late tonight over the low rolling plains and the far northwestern Big Country and then gradually sweep east across the remainder of the Big country during the day on Thursday.
Significant snow accumulations are possible along with blowing and drifting snow given strong northwest winds of 25 to 35 mph.
