From the Texas DPS: Travel is still discouraged around the Big Country. The snow fall is beginning to lighten up, however area roadways that were once snow covered are starting to slowly thaw, causing standing water and deep slush.
Overpasses and bridges remain frozen and covered with packed snow and ice. Drivers need to prepare for and expect long delays in standing traffic caused by careless drivers and crashes.
When the temperatures begin to fall tonight, the standing water will freeze causing considerable concern for motorists late tonight and into the morning traffic.
