Winnie Fay Brewer Kendrick was born a few years ago on September 11th in Brown County, TX to Harvey and Wilma Brewer. On December 21, 2014, she went to be with her Lord and Savior following a brief illness.

Winnie grew up in the Brownwood area and met and married the love of her life, Billy Howard Kendrick, in 1956. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, a graduate of Central Texas Commercial College, and worked for many years as PBX Supervisor at Brownwood Regional Medical Center before her retirement in 1995.

It is impossible to sum up in a few short paragraphs who Winnie Kendrick was to the people who love her. In a nutshell, she was an artist, singer, a poet, a songwriter, a musician who could play any instrument she took a notion to pick up. She had a song for every occasion, and anyone fortunate enough to attend her family get-togethers can attest that these gatherings were always filled with laughter, guitars, singing.

Winnie was an unbelievably strong woman, who overcame many adversities and who love her family fiercely. She was kind, she was loving, she was forgiving, and she never ended a conversation without an “I love you”.

An intensely spiritual woman, her faith was amazingly strong and she appreciated all things associated with nature. She had an uncanny ability to see beauty in the things that many of us fail to notice; she could pick up any ordinary rock, dried leaf or feather and turn it into an amazing piece of art. She simply made everything around her more beautiful, and everyone around her feel loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include one son, Billy Kendrick of Brownwood; Two daughters, Alanna Beard and husband Lynn of Brownwood, and Tonya Cox and husband Arvil of Brownwood; Nine grandchildren, Stacy Reitz of Brownwood, Christopher Reitz and wife Tiffany of Euless, Cody Kendrick and wife Natalie of Lubbock, Kaleigh Kendrick of Mullin, Brandon Cox of Brownwood, Kristian Cox and spouse Chino Valdez of Brownwood, Savannah Cox of Brownwood, Matthew Beard of Brownwood, and Michael Beard and spouse Summer of Brownwood; Fourteen great-children, Zane Reitz, MacKinley Coppic, Sailor Reitz, Avree Kendrick, Korbin Kendrick, Kayden Cox, Alexis Cox, Ciera Cox, Gavin Beard, Christian beard, Kaydee Beard, Michaela Beard, Christopher Beard and Allyson Beard.
